ARDI is governed by a Board of Directors (BOD) that provide leadership and governance oversight to the organization. The Board members have varied and rich experiences in global health, international relation and development, strategy development, finance and
accounting, and law among others. The BOD has two standing committees namely: –Program and Resource Mobilization (PROM) committee, and an Executive Committee (EXCOM). Members to the Committees are elected from within the members of the BOD. The committees provide needed support to both the management and the board.

The Executive Committee functions a management board and makes decisions in between the meetings of the BOD. The Executive Committee directly supervises the organization’s operational team (management team). The management team comprises of dynamic group of personnel with expertise in health, research, strategic planning and management, communication, grant management, monitoring and evaluation, policy analysis and business development among others. The Management team is headed by an Executive Director (Chief Executive Officer) and s/he is mandated to undertake day-to-day operation of the organization.

The management has capacity to network and mobilize additional expertise needed for specific activities where it has limited capacity or as way to facilitate effective stakeholder engagements. The additional experts called Associates, and Senior and Principal Associates (for programs and research) work with the existing ARDI core technical and administrative staff to undertake assignments on short- and long-term basis.
